The V70 went to my mechanic this morning and has been given a nearly perfect bill of health

It could use front control arm bushings and rear sway bar links in the next 6 months or so, and I “would notice new shocks, but don’t need them yet”. Tires soon, but I knew that. There’s a saved code about incorrect hydraulic pressure in the rear diff, but he doesn’t think it’s anything because it’s not giving DSC or ABS codes. The brakes are new, the transmission is strong, and the engine is tight and healthy. No signs of any leaks, PCV system is good, no shaft play in the turbo and no oil leaks or seepage at all in or around the turbo. It’s “unusually good for the miles”, so that’s awesome.

That’s a good shot of the car.  It makes it look handsome and almost sexy.

Great now I feel bad about slacking on washing mine as yours  is so shiny.  Well that and actually ordering my cart from rockauto to address those issues I don’t want to deal with on 95+ degree weekends.

Don’t feel too bad, it’s about a 10 footer. Surprisingly decent paint, but definitely not perfect

Ah, clear is starting to go on my hood but that isn’t a surprise with the age.

It’s easier to just replace the control arms instead of the bushings since you have to remove them and reinstall anyway.

The kit from FCP is only about $165 and includes tie rod ends and sway bar end links.

I think that’s the route I’m going to go. My splash guard is gone so I’ll have the front end up anyways to bolt on an IPD skid plate at some point , maybe I’ll do control arms at the same time.

Maybe this Volvo is the chosen one, the used Volvo that won’t break down fairly soon after being purchased by an Oppo

I’s not too bad a job.  Maybe an hour and a half for the first side and 45 minutes for the next one after you know what you’re doing. Cool car, hope it treats you well.

Haha I really hope so, I would definitely  like it to not break down when I’m two provinces away from home.
